240328 – Proverbs 24

Proverbs 24:5: “The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.”

Wise people are able to stand strong through adversity.

I hiked a waterfall trail last weekend, and it was beautiful. The whole way down, I was in awe of the stunning views all the way to the bottom of the gorgeously powerful fall. The hike back up seemed a lot less scenic. I was out of breath, struggling to keep up with my husband, and thinking I wouldn’t make it. Then, I started going over the facts of what I knew to be true. I’ve done this hike at least 10 times before, even as a kid. I have been active, and I’m fit enough to climb this hill. I can do this. Sure enough, I did it.

Wisdom of the mind has a lot more to do with strength than you may realize. Henry Ford is commonly quoted as saying, “Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” That also applies to your faith. When you focus your mind on God’s truth, you have the knowledge and strength to prevail. When you face heartbreak, you know God loves you. When you face loneliness, you know God is with you. When you face failure, you know God has a plan for you. In order to win the battle of lies and insecurities in your head, you need to know God’s truth. Read the Bible, go to church, and get plugged in to a Christian community. Then, you will have the knowledge to muster incredible strength through Jesus.

Do you usually focus on your knowledge and faith in God to get you through the tough times?
