Some sin looks pretty cool and fun from the outside. It’s easy to scroll through Instagram and think maybe you’d be happier or have more friends if you just went to that party, drank like those guys, or dated someone like her. This wise warning tells us that your heart is in jeopardy when you try to follow in the path of sin. What seems like a little lie, small compromise, trying it just once, or doing it because everyone else is changes your heart.
When you do something you know is wrong, it gets easier and easier to compromise your morals. Eventually, you push your conscience and God’s guiding Spirit away. Instead, be devoted to doing what is right in God’s eyes. There you will find peace and purpose in the Lord.
