230214 – Pursuing His Vision

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NKJV) Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; But at the end it will speak, and it will not lie. Though it tarries, wait for it; Because it will surely come, It will not tarry.

God responded to Habakkuk when he took time to seek the Lord. Basically, God was telling Habakkuk that he is going to do something about the situation.

God speaks when we converse with Him about our situation regardless of whether it pertains to our life, our work, business, or ministry.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)  But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Everything is a process including waiting for the deliverance of the Lord. The journey that God will bring us through when we place our faith in Him requires us to have patience, stay focused on His promises and not to look at the circumstances.

How do you know when you have heard from the Lord? It is through the process of seeking Him diligently. We are to walk by faith once we have sought His face. The anchor or the very thing that gives substance to our faith will be the book, chapter, and verse that God has given you. The other safeguards are the witness of the Holy Spirit in your heart and godly counsel. These are some of the safeguards that you can have before stepping out on the faith journey with God.

The key is to be humble, seek the face of God diligently in good and bad times thereafter to stand in faith based on what we have heard from Him. It will take time and a process before we are able to witness the physical manifestation of the promise that He has given us. It will take time for the vision or the pivoting that we have decided to take see fruition.

It doesn’t mean that there will be no push back from the closest people or members of your team whenever you receive something from the Lord. However, you need to be very sure and confident that you have heard from the Lord as a leader. You are to stand your ground, lead by faith and know where and what point B looks like. Often, the task that the Lord gives to us will always be beyond what we can do as a church and as a leader, but God will provide the resources in terms of people, the team, and finances. God’s idea will always prosper regardless of the circumstances surrounding it.

Sermon Series: Pivoting
