0125 – Are You in Trouble? | TBS Devotions

Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise.

~ James 5:13 NIV

Jesus was known for being a man of prayer.  He prayed the night before he was going to be crucified on the cross.  He presented his request to God but he also declared his willingness to submit to the will of his Heavenly Father.

Nobody wants to be in trouble, but it’s part of life.  The Bible gives us some practical advice for when trouble comes: pray. Let go, let God.  Be still before Him and allow him to intervene in your situation.  He is the great deliverer.  If you are responsible for the trouble you are in, confess and receive forgiveness.  God is able to restore any situation, in His timing, with his own terms.  Our job is to put our trust in Him and understand that we also need to bear the consequences of our actions.

The Bible says: ” And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” Romans8:28.   Can we hang on this promise today?  Pray and have faith that He will work it out.  Put your hope in the goodness of God.  This trouble will be used as an opportunity for you to personally experience Christ.

The Bible says, “weeping may endure for a  night, but joy comes in the morning” psalm 30:5. There is, and, there will be times where we will be happy.  Let’s not forget to celebrate and praise God from whom all blessings flow.  We can sing songs of praise to Him who is good and whose love endures forever!

Morning after morning,  our God watches over us.  In every season of life, he is still the same.  We can live with confidence that the one who is in us is greater than the one who is in this world.  So, let’s rise and shine and give God the glory! As children of the most High, we have that great privilege to declare to the whole world that our Heavenly Father is in control!  We shall not fear!  The victory belongs to Him!

Prayer: My Father in Heaven,  I glorify your name.  No weapons set against me will remain,  because you are my shelter,  you are the great deliverer.  I choose to start this day with praise because I have faith in you.  Thank you for the strength I have because of you.  I know that all things are possible and I look forward to seeing miracles in my life.
