1222 – Taste and See | TBS Devotions

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.” ~ Psalms 34:8

Part of being a Christian is to be able to experience Christ regularly and develop a personal relationship with Him in every season of life.  Jesus makes us victorious, but are we willing to follow him all the time?

Think for a minute about something great that happened to you and something beautiful that captured our attention.  I like to see it as a taste of God’s goodness and a glimpse of Him.

When things don’t go as planned, the Bible reminds us to declare that we are blessed because we take refuge in Christ Jesus.  He is with us all the time.  He is our Emmanuel.  We can live in peace because he lives in us.

Our confidence and our hope are not in this world.  They are in Jesus. He is the author and the perfecter of our faith. He is the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.

We can take a minute today and think of all the battles we fought, all the prayers we prayed and all that has given to us.  Think of your family, your friends, your health, and how well protected you are. Now give thanks to the Lord for all of this.  Oh, taste and see that He is good.  Sing and worship Him because He is your refuge. Run to Him and take refuge.  There is no better place than in the loving arms and presence of the Lord.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for another day that you have made. I will rejoice and be glad in it. Holy Spirit, I give you freedom to operate in me. Give a revelation of God’s will in my life. Take away any doubt and fear that might still be present within me. I want to taste and see that you, my Lord, are good. Please bless this new day and bless my family and my friends. Amen.
