Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the [b]wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [c]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

Ephesians 6:10-18 (NKJV)

CG Discussion Questions:

1. As Christians, we are constantly in a spiritual war. We are to always be on the alert, armed and ready with the armor that God has equipped us with. What is “putting on the armor of God” to you? Which piece of the armor have you been using the most?
(Ephesians 6:10-18)

2. Every piece of the armor is important. We are to put on the WHOLE armor of God as it empowers us and strengthens us. Can you share testimonies where you are able to stand strong upon the victory already won through Christ even when we think the situation is hopeless? (
Ephesians 6:11-12; Colossians 2:15; Ephesians 1:19-20)

3. Ephesians 6:11 & 14 call us to stand firm in the truth as we fight against the wiles of the devil. What is the truth we are referring to and how does it enable us to win this fight against the devil?
(Ephesians 6:11,14; John 8:32; Psalms 119:105, Jeremiah 13:11)

4. The armour of God is further strengthened when we build a strong relationship with God. Ephesians 6:18 calls us to pray always. What does it mean to be praying always? What difference does prayer make even as we are already equipped with the armour of God?
(Ephesians 6:18; Philippians 4:6)
