230612 – Mobilising Ambassadors

2 Corinthians 5:20 (NKJV) Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

I had the opportunity to work in the secular world for six years before I went to seminary. During the last two years, I had the opportunity to share the Gospel and minister to my colleagues. All my colleagues knew me relatively well, and there was an opportunity to share the Gospel with one of them when we were having a meal together. This person was a staunch Buddhist but was open to understanding the meaning of the Gospel. I took the opportunity to share the Gospel with him and he accepted Christ. A few months later, I had another opportunity to share the Gospel with another colleague. He too accepted Christ. Slowly but surely, nine others came to know the Lord and we even had a Bible study outside office hours.

There is nothing complex about sharing the Gospel or ministering to others based on what the Lord has instructed us to do. What we really need is to be open to know how to share the Gospel, avail ourselves to share when the opportunity arises and continue to love the people.

God is passionate about restoring relationships with every individual and family on the earth, because the very intent of the Abrahamic Covenant (Genesis 12:2-3) was to ensure that all the families of the earth would be blessed. The blessings mentioned here are not just referring to material blessings but having the residence of the Holy Spirit in their hearts upon calling on the name of Jesus. It is about salvation. However, many individuals and families are still lost without the opportunity to hear the good news and call upon the name of Jesus.

There is a misconception that ministry is meant for full time workers. Instead, Jesus is mobilising every believer, including you and me, to reach out to the lost and share the Gospel. He has called us to go into all the world, instead of waiting for seekers or unbelievers to walk into church themselves. He is calling, mobilising, and equipping every believer to be part of the Great Commission. Jesus is known to be walking, eating, and sharing with the lost. He wants us to do likewise with the people whom He has placed in our midst.

John 14:12 (NKJV) “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.
