230518 – Help in A Time of Need

Hebrews 4:15-16 (NKJV) For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathise with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.  Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Have you ever been in a situation where you feel like you are between a rock and a hard place?  You have prayed all kinds of prayers and many people are also praying for you. However, not much has happened and there is no progress whatsoever. What should you do?

There are many people who seldom have the desire to come into the presence of God, because as human beings, we are more dependent on our minds, intellect, people connections and personal abilities than on God. Pride makes us unable to let go of being a self-made man or woman.  However, there will be many occasions when we have come to the end of our own abilities in the area of wisdom, knowledge or knowhow, and are humbled to a point where we need to come before God to seek His help.

We can know God through reading the Bible, having faith in what the Bible teaches, applying the truths in our lives and building a relationship with God. However, we also need to seek God by entering into the throne of grace through prayer. Did you know that praise and worship is also a form of prayer? Therefore, you, your spouse, and your other family members can go into a session of vibrant praise until you enter into worship. When you have worshipped until the glory falls, then dwell in God’s presence. Learn to dwell and soak in His presence and tune into what the Spirit of God is saying.

We need to create a godly discipline to worship God daily. We are to pray, which is us speaking to God. On the other hand, reading the Bible and journaling is God speaking to us when we are open to His advice. We enter the throne of grace boldly because we know that we are hidden in Christ. We are thankful that we can find grace and mercy to help us especially in times of need. Our boldness is not in ourselves because of we have done or the position we hold in life, but in who we are in Christ. That is the revelational truth that we can worship in spirit and in truth!

We pour out to Him our dilemmas, the crossroads that we are facing and the decisions that we have to make. In turn, He will reveal to us His will by bringing us to a Scripture of promise, showing us a vision, speaking to us through spontaneous thoughts and giving us peace, or lack thereof, over our decisions, because He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Psalms 121:1-2 (NKJV) I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
