240401 – Proverbs 26

Proverbs 26:12: “Do you see a person wise in their own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for them.”

People who are truly wise know they don’t know it all.

There has only been one person to walk this earth with divine wisdom and complete understanding of all things, and that was Jesus. There were plenty of people who met Jesus and thought He was wrong and they were right. They said He wasn’t sent by God, but rather He was a liar and a false prophet. They would test Him, question Him, accuse Him of wrong-doing, and eventually have him killed by criminal punishment. Imagine what went through their minds when the news spread that Jesus’s tomb was empty. He had risen from the dead. He was, in fact, the Messiah.

As humans, we don’t know everything or see everything clearly. God has gifted us with intelligence and great competence, but our views are often biased and limited to our own experiences. Jesus is still revealing new truths to those who are humble and open enough to receiving them. Be humble. Listen to others. Seek truth.

Are you open to God revealing new truths to you, or are you set in arguing what you already believe to be right?
