0202 – Repent! | TBS Devotions

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

~ 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV

This world we live in is facing a lot of problems.  Just to name some: injustice, inequality,  prejudice, pollution,  global warming,  war,  rumors of war,  sickness. Sin has been present since the fall of man in the garden and its consequences are devastating.  But God promised to never leave us nor forsake us.  By “us” I mean us, his people, God’s family. The ones who belong to His son Jesus Christ.

Christians are blessed to be called the people of God.  But we also have the responsibility to call upon the Name of Jesus and be saved from any situation we are in.  We are called to intercede for our family, our neighborhood, our city, our country.

God’s hands is powerful enough to deliver his people.  Just like how he used Moses to deliver Israel from slavery, He wants to use us to deliver our family and friends from the wrath to come in the judgment day.  That’s why we need to repent.  We need to recognize and acknowledge the sin that is present in our lives. We need to turn from our wicked ways because God hears us from Heaven!  He says it in His Word! And He is faithful to His Word. He will forgive us our sin and guess what? HE WILL HEAL OUR LAND!

What a glorious truth! God will heal our land! Let’s keep this in mind every time we get discourage by what’s happening in our land. We can start by having our personal talk with God and make things right with Him. We can be the change we want to see around us. We can call upon the Name of Jesus and be saved from our current situation. We can turn things around by focusing on His greatness and sing aloud “ How Great is our God!”

Prayer: Jesus, you are worthy of all praise, my heart will sing how great you are! Great is your faithfulness to me Lord! I praise you because you make everything beautiful in your good timing. This day I choose to put my trust in you alone! I will walk by faith and not by sight. I will proclaim your victory over all situation I face today.

Amen
