0131 – Abide in me | TBS Devotions

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.

~ John 15:4 NIV

Jesus loves his disciples very much.  He uses every opportunity to teach them and remind them how important it is to maintain a living relationship with God.

He himself is God incarnated.  The time spent with him is never wasted.  In the contrary, it’s so vital that Jesus compares our relationship with him to the vine and its branches.  The branches cannot receive supplement of life without the vine.  Is the same way, we, as,  Christians, cannot walk away from the Lord and expect to have a fruitful spiritual life.

As we remain in Christ, he remains in us and we will bear fruits.  Our Life will display his character and his love.  We will be directed by His Holy Spirit and we will be set free from the bondage of sin.

No branch can bear fruit itself!  You are not called to live this life by yourself.  Christ is available to save you from anxiety and uncertainty.  He is willing intervene on your behalf and mold you in such a way that you will reflect him in every area of your life.

Remain in Jesus.  Keep praying regularly, worship Him in every season of your life.  His Word is filled Spirit and Life.  Read and see how real He can be.  Don’t put any pressure on yourself when you don’t understand what you read. Just received his grace. Talk to Him and talk about Him, so your close friends and family can also be blessed by Him.

In Christ alone, will you find the peace that surpasses all understanding.  He brings healing and victory.  His love will never fail you.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for being the Truth.  Help me build my life upon your firm foundation.  Teach me to remain in you and may your Word remain in me.  I know that with you I can do all things because you give me strength.

Amen.
