People like to gather for many reasons: common interest, worship, sport, family reunion, birthday parties, school group project ect… But the Bible highlights a gathering that is different than others. The gathering of two or three in the Name of Jesus. The Bible says that Jesus is there.
Could it be that Jesus is not there in some other gathering? His presence is so important because He provides protection. There are so many things that are out of our control, accidents, sickness, spiritual attacks and so many other unpredictable events. The blood of Jesus has the power to heal us and protect us. We should value and welcome his presence wherever we are and wherever we go.
Jesus also provides nourishment. His Word is like a bread to our soul. In John6:35 He says “I am the bread of life”. With 5 loaves and 2 fishes he could feed over 5000 peole. As we gather in His Name, he is faithful and true to give us the portion of spiritual food that we need. He will not deny our physical need either but graciously give and provide for our daily bread.
In His Name, we can overcome the challenges of life. When school is overwhelming let’s gather in Jesus Name and welcome His presence so we can intercede and pray for one another. We can cry out to Him and ask for help in all areas of life. He is filled with love and compassion. He will never give up on us. In His name every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord.
Prayer:
Jesus, I call upon your name this morning. I believe in the power of your Name that is above all names. In your Name I declare that this day will be a great day to experience you in a brand-new way. Help me to enter and remain in your presence throughout the day so I can be effective if everything I do. Not for my own glory but for your glory. Please continue to bless my family and friends and teach me how to be a blessing to them as well.
