We are blessed to live in a city with over 22million people. Every day is an opportunity to show forth God’s love through our words and attitude. As we start our day we probably have a To-Do list in our mind. But do we take time to think of treating others the way we want to be treated?
We can be friendly because we surely want people to be friendly to us. We will probably need to be gracious with our words and be more patient when facing a challenging situation. Not venting our anger or frustration on people but patiently trying to understand the situation and putting on the love of Christ to try to solve it in a peaceful way.
Jesus knows our limitation. That’s why he provided for a helper: The Holy Spirit. It is by the power of the Holy Spirit at work in us that we will be able to do what God commands us to do. The Bible says we love because HE first loved us. As we walk by the Spirit we can love the unlovable, we can treat people right and become a living testimony.
People are more touched by our actions than our words. So, let’s be doers of the Word. We have a mission to accomplish on this earth: to spread the love of Jesus everywhere we are with everything we do or say. Jesus is the way to salvation, so let us walk like him and act like him. Being his imitator is the best way to follow the golden rule.
Prayer:
Jesus! How blessed it is to be called your people. Help me understand my calling. Help me obey your voice and teach me how to hear you clearly. I want my life to be a living testimony. Holy Spirit, be at work in me because I know that your grace is sufficient to me!
