1215 – Renewed Day By Day | TBS Devotions

“Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”

~ 2 Corinthians 4:16

Millions of Christians have suffered persecution since the beginning of time and many are enduring harsh treatment in our days.  Jesus had to leave the city because people wanted to stone him.  The Apostles were put in prison and threatened more than once.  In the old testament you can read the story of David running away for his life.  And yet, they didn’t give up on their faith.  There was an inward strength that enabled them to take their stand.  Daniel was physically put in a lion’s den and a fiery furnace but this didn’t stop Him from trusting God.

What situation are you facing today?  I would like to encourage you to take your stand.  Don’t give up.  Persevere in prayer, be patient in tribulation and put your hope in the God of peace who can make a way when there seems to be no way.

Walking daily with the Lord can be a smooth a peaceful journey.  Like when people were following Jesus and hearing him teaching the sermon of the Mountain.  But there are also going to be seasons where your faith will be tested.  People of false religions might be teasing you or put some pressure on you to give up this godly lifestyle of yours. Don’t give up. Don’t conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

The Bible has the power to renew our mind.  Our inward man is renewed day by day when we walk closer to God.  Cultivate your faith and your fellowship with God each day through prayer, devotion, worship and Bible reading.  Take joy in fellowship with people who love the Lord and could influence you to live a godly life.   Do not lose heart when the pressure is high and your friends don’t seem to understand your love for Christ.  God is the one you want to please.  God is worthy of your love.  He will do great things among you and within you.  Be patient and watch him do the miracle.  You will bear fruits that come from the Spirit and you will make a difference.

Prayer:

God, thank you for your mercy that is new every morning.  Great is your faithfulness.  I am blessed because I have you as my heavenly Father.  You are the strength of my heart.  My strong and solid foundation.  Help me to stand firm against the schemes of the evil one.  I know I can be joyful because you, God, are my living hope.
