Luke 22:31 (NKJV) “And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat.”
2) False Doctrine
Hebrews 13:9 (NKJV) “Do not be carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is good that the heart be established by grace, not with foods which have not profited those who have been occupied with them.”
3) The good life
Mark 4:18-19 (NKJV) “Now these are the ones sown among thorns; they are the ones who hear the word, 19 and the cares of this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the desires for other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.”
4) Sin
Hebrews 3:12-13 (NKJV) “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
When Christians do not grow spiritually,
1) There is none to restore
Galatians 6:1 (NKJV) “Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.”
2) They will bear no fruit or bad fruit
Romans 7:5 (NKJV) “For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were aroused by the law were at work in our members to bear fruit to death.”
3) They will be lacking something
James 1:4 (NKJV) “But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
4) They will miss out on God’s wisdom
1 Corinthians 2:6-7 (NKJV) “However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,
5) Their witness and harvest will be affected
Romans 2:23-24 (NKJV) “You who make your boast in the law, do you dishonor God through breaking the law? 24 For “the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you,”[a] as it is written.”
6) They will lack discernment
Hebrews 5:14 (NKJV) “But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”
7) They will have all manner of evil
James 3:16 (NKJV) “For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.”
On the other hand, when we grow,
1) We have the fruit of the spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 (NKJV) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…”
2) We will have grace
1 Peter 5:10 (NKJV) “ But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.”
3) And we will have knowledge
2 Peter 3:18 (NKJV) “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever. Amen.”

让我们选择属灵的成长！
人们放弃信仰有几个原因：
1）患难
路加福音 22:31 主又说：“西门，西门！撒但想要得着你们，好筛你们，像筛麦子一样。“
2) 异教
希伯来书 13:9 你们不要被那诸般怪异的教训勾引了去。因为人心靠恩得坚固才是好的，并不是靠饮食；那在饮食上专心的，从来没有得着益处。
3） 富足生活
马可福音 4:18-19 “还有那撒在荆棘里的，就是人听了道，19 后来有世上的思虑，钱财的迷惑，和别样的私欲，进来把道挤住了，就不能结实。
4）罪
希伯来书 3:12-13 弟兄们，你们要谨慎，免得你们中间，或有人存着不信的恶心，把永生神离弃了。13 总要趁着还有今日，天天彼此相劝，免得你们中间，有人被罪迷惑，心里就刚硬了。
当基督徒的灵命没有长进时，
1）他就挽回不了别人
加拉太书 6:1 弟兄们，若有人偶然被过犯所胜，你们属灵的人，就当用温柔的心，把他挽回过来，又当自己小心，恐怕也被引诱。
2）他们将结不出果子或 结坏果子
罗马书 7:5 因为我们属肉体的时候，那因律法而生的恶欲，就在我们肢体中发动，以致结成死亡的果子．
3）他们将有所缺欠
雅各书 1:4 但忍耐也当成功，使你们成全完备，毫无缺欠
4）他们将错过从神而来的智慧
哥林多前书 2:6-7 然而在完全的人中，我们也讲智慧，但不是这世上的智慧，也不是这世上有权有位将要败亡之人的智慧。我们讲的，乃是从前所隐藏， 神奥秘的智慧，就是 神在万世以前，预定使我们得荣耀的。
5）他们的见证与收成将受到影响
罗马书 2:23-24 你指着律法夸口，自己倒犯律法，玷辱 神么。神的名在外邦人中，因你们受了亵渎，正如经上所记的。
6）他们将缺乏分辨能力
希伯来书 5:14 惟独长大成人的，才能吃干粮，他们的心窍，习练得通达，就能分辨好歹了。
7）他们将心怀各种不义
雅各书 3:16 在何处有嫉妒分争，就在何处有扰乱，和各样的坏事。
然而，当我们的灵命渐长时，
1）我们就结出圣灵的果子
加拉太书 5:22-23 圣灵所结的果子，就是仁爱、喜乐、和平、忍耐、恩慈、良善、信实、温柔、节制……
2）我们会有恩典
彼得前书 5:10 那赐诸般恩典的 神，曾在基督里召你们，得享他永远的荣耀，等你们暂受苦难之后，必要亲自成全你们，坚固你们，赐力量给你们。
3）我们会有知识
彼得后书 3:18 你们却要在我们主救主耶稣基督的恩典和知识上有长进。愿荣耀归给他，从今直到永远。阿们。
