Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to TRUST in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to ENJOY. Let them do good, that they be RICH in good works, READY to give, WILLING to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NKJV)

CG Discussion Questions:

1. What is your view on the perception that Christians who are rich or well supplied in life are worldly while poverty equate to godliness or spirituality? How can we know and what can we do so that the love of money has not become an idol in our lives?
(1 Timothy 6:17-19; 1 Timothy 6:10; 1 Timothy 5:8; Colossians 3:5)

2. Do you believe that our God is a loving Father who wants to give us good and perfect gifts to enjoy His blessings on earth, if the love of money is not an issue in your live? Explain the twofold purpose of tithing and what is the difference between tithing and free-willed offering?
(Genesis 1:29-31; Ecclesiastes 5:19; Psalms 35:27; Malachi 3:10)

3. Knowing that God is not against money or people being well provided for life, discuss how you can be a good steward of God’s money based on the Biblical financial principles, especially with sow and reap. Discuss how you can help the poor and needy practically or bless to give cheerfully to a good cause, knowing that when we give to the poor, we are in fact lending to the Lord because God’s heart is for the poor, His ministry workers and all His children.
(2 Corinthians 9:6-10; Luke 6:38; Proverbs 11:24-25; Proverbs 19:17)
