Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.”

So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Mark 11:20-24 (NKJV)

CG Discussion Questions:

1. The Bible never tells us to deny the reality as if there are no challenges in this world, but what are the results of talking too much about the Mountain (problem) that we face? Explain what it means when Jesus asks us to speak to the mountain to be removed and to have faith in God in turning the invisible words into the visible world?
(Mark 11:20-24)

2. What is the mountain (problem) that you are facing now in your life? Should the mountain be in your life, including fear, lack of provision or sickness, when Jesus commands us to speak to the mountain to be removed?
(1 John 4:17-18; Philippians 4:19; Matthew 9:35; Acts 10:38; 3 John 2)

3. How do we anchor our faith in the word of God to have “mountain moving” faith, so that we do not doubt in our heart regarding what we have just said? Discuss how we can frame our world (walk with God, emotional mental or physical health, relationship in marriage and family, finances and provision) by speaking and agreeing with what God says, and to supersede reality with the truth of God’s word.
(Mark 11:23-24; Mark 4:16-17)
