Submitting to one another in the fear of God. Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body. Therefore, just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her… “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.”

Ephesians 5:21-25,31

1. How do you view a wife’s position in a marriage in reference to property, complement, junior partner or equal partner relationship especially in your culture? What are the roles and responsibilities of the husband and the wife in a marriage?
(Ephesians 5:25)

2. How do you decide who takes on certain roles in order for your home to be well run and maintained as a married couple? Discuss who would be the main care giver to the baby and children during their formative years and who would take up the predominant role of disciplining children and why do you make such decisions.
(Song of Solomon 2:15; 1 Timothy 5:14; Ephesians 5:21)

3. What are some critical decisions that need absolute agreement from both the husband and the wife before moving forward? Discuss if your marriage is heavily influenced by the parents in law and how do you view that the newly wed is a new family unit as “a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife”.
(Ephesians 5:31; Exodus 18:19)
