230401 – Nothing to Fear

1 John 2:1-2 (NKJV) My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Revelation 12:10 (NKJV) Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.

We have boldness on the day of judgement because Jesus is our advocate in heaven. The devil acts like a prosecutor in the presence of God accusing us before Him day and night. He also condemns us in our minds by bringing into our remembrance all our past wrongs, accuses us for not being good enough to be loved by God and deceives us into thinking that God is against us, has abandoned us, and doesn’t love us because of our shortcomings. Unless we understood God’s perfect love for us, all these accusations and condemnations will bring about fear and insecurity before God.

As the opening Scripture says, Jesus Himself is the propitiation for our sins and the sins of the world. We overcome the devil with the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. Whenever there is a charge against God’s elect, Jesus provides the evidence that the penalty for our sins has been paid. He will show forth the blood that was offered in the heavenly tabernacle for our sins because He is our high priest who has offered His blood once and for all, after which He sat down besides the Father. Jesus plays the double role of an advocate as well as the one who paid the price of our sins. Therefore, we have nothing to fear because it is God who justifies us. This is why the Apostle Paul was so convinced that God’s love would never leave us.

Romans 8:31-33 (NKJV) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.

God intentionally established the Abrahamic covenant so that all the families on the earth will be blessed. Through His perfect love, God pursued, restored, and redeemed us to Himself through the blood of Jesus Christ despite our sins, weaknesses, and lawlessness. He gave us His best in His beloved Son because He wants us to have the highest good. Therefore, no demonic operation or anything in this world can separate us from God’s agape love. When we fully understand God’s perfect and everlasting love for us, it will eradicate all fear in this life and life after death.
