“His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
– 2 Peter 1:3
Only God has that power to develop godliness in you. His heart’s desire is to transform you day by day so you can live a godly life. When you receive Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, His divine life starts to operate bin you.
If you wonder how the great men and women of God found boldness and courage to stand in the gap and fight the good fight of faith. The answer is in the Bible: God himself provide for everything we need for a godly life.
A godly life is a life lived under the influence and guidance of the Holy Spirit.
Which means in everything you do, know that God is watching you and he has the tools that you need to make good choices and right decisions. All you need is to go to Him in prayer and ask for direction. He can change your mindset and help you overcome sin by showing you a way out that is in line with His will and His attribute.
God has so much compassion over us. In his great love, He gives us grace, and allow us to use our free will to navigate the ups and down of our everyday life. In the same time, he encourages us in His Word to seek Him and acknowledge his presence so we don’t fall into sin. Our flesh wants to do things that are not pleasing to God. But our Spirit has the power to be one Spirit with God. So when we walk by the spirit we don’t gratify the desire of the flesh. We bear the fruit of the Spirit. We are able to love. We have joy and peace. We are patient and kind. We are good and faithful to God. We develop gentleness and self-control. These could summarize a godly life.
Let us seek to know God more and more each day. In our prayer closet, in our moment of worship or when we take time to read and pray His Word, we can gain more knowledge of Him.
He calls us his own. He is a glorious God and he can make His Glory shine through us. Our Living Testimony is a powerful way to share the Gospel to those who are not yet in the Family of God.
Prayer: Father, thank you for being my provider, healer and redeemer. Thank you for allowing me to grow in knowledge. Thank you for shining your glory through me. Continue to be at work in my life. Use me to reach out to more people. You are good and your mercy endures forever.
