“Very early in the morning while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.” – Mark 1:35
Out of my curiosity I searched to find out the estimated population of Christians in the world and Wikipedia quoted me a whooping 2.3 billion people. I thought, God must be very very busy having to attend to all His people. Yet each time I pray, God always shows up and direct me in His ways. Jesus had many followers yet he knew the importance of making room to spend quiet time with the Father. Making room to spend quality time with God may somewhat feel pretty difficult, especially with so many exciting things going around that easily pulls us away and distract us from spending time with God. Therefore, it requires conscious commitment and diligence from us, to put aside time and make room for God in reading The Word and in prayers.
Making room for God is not a chore. Each day as we seek the Lord, beautiful things happen. We are made for communion and fellowship with our Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Making room for God allows the presence of God to permeate within us and our lives can be transformed and empowered supernaturally as only the Holy Spirit can work! God, most Holy and Righteous, delights to be with us – if only we choose to make room for Him!
Making room for God creates the space for the infusion of His everlasting peace. God takes this space and time to teach us, correct us and shape us into the image of Himself. When we read the Bible, we are literally opening our ears to hear His will for us. When we memorize Scripture Verses, we are engraving living words within our soul. When we speak to our Father, we can experience the power of His love.
Making room for God is truly transformational!
Let us declutter our lives and choose to make room for the most important Person in our lives! Let us make room to honor Him and submit ourselves to His will and purpose!
Reflections: Commit a fresh schedule, making Jesus your FIRST
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me stay out of distraction and be able to focus on You. I commit this new schedule into Your loving hands, putting You Lord as number #1 before any others. I can commit to the schedule because I fix my eyes on You Lord. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
