“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” – Ephesians 4:32
We all have the freedom to make choices. We can choose to walk past people and behave cold like Uncle Scrooge (Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens), brushing people off with hard sulken faces. Or we could take a little effort to pay some attention to the things and people around us. Perhaps giving a little of your time; your money; your word of love; or even just a simple smile.
But some may challenge my suggestion and say, “Why bother? Who cares anyway? We all have enough things to deal with already, why should we care how other people react to our gesture; they don’t even care about mine anyway, so why should i be bothered about trying to be nice?”.
Hey, would you bother to care, even just a little?
Life does test us constantly. We might experience conflict in conversations or perhaps irritation from people’s behavior. It can sometimes, be really hard to be nice and be kind. Yet Jesus Himself taught us to “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you” – Ephesians 4:32.
Is it possible for us, to try take the first step to show a little more smile on our face; to care & be that love of God, by caring for the people whom God placed us to cross path with? May the Holy Spirit be our Guide as we obediently follow His lead.
Reflections: Are there anyone who has hurt you and you need the Lord to help you to forgive the person?
Prayer: Dear Lord, I have been hurt and it can be hard to forgive. But today I am going to lean on you and ask You Lord to help me to forgive (Name of person). I also want to commit myself to be Your ambassador of Love and Kindness, to the people around me. Help me Lord as I choose to obey Your ways. In Christ Name I pray, Amen.
