READ: Job 7:4-16
“Therefore I will not restrain my mouth. I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain in the bitterness of my soul.” Job 7:11
Reflection: Job prayed to God in absolute misery and held nothing back. Jesus walked this earth and suffered the sorrows of this world infinitely. He understands what you are going through and was also tempted in every way that we are. Don’t pretend to have it all together to a God who knows better. Draw near to Jesus, even when it’s not pretty. Especially when it’s not pretty.
Prayer Prompt: What raw emotions do you need to get off your chest? Take them to Jesus, even if you don’t understand them, and see if He places a response on your heart. Sometimes I imagine it like giving God a hairball of emotions that’s so tightly tangled it’s impossible to even make sense of. And God takes a miracle brush and straightens everything out. Even if He doesn’t give you an answer yet, He helps you to process and make sense of them. Not acknowledging their existence or suppressing these emotions can lead to sin.
