Words that Teach
God gifted Solomon with incredible wisdom, then Solomon dedicated much of his life to sharing that wisdom with others. The Holy Spirit empowered Solomon to write such wise and true advice to believers, his letters are now in the Bible as the Books of Provers and Ecclesiastes. Solomon concludes the book of Ecclesiastes by reinforcing the importance of sharing godly wisdom with others.
Ecclesiastes 12:9-11
Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. The
Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true. The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings
like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd.
Solomon concludes this book by reminding us how important it is to lead others towards safety and life-everlasting in Christ. When you share truth and wisdom that reveals the goodness of God to others, you are helping them discover the true meaning to life. Ecclesiastes goes on and on about the pointlessness of so many things — concluding that the only thing that matters is living for Christ so you can spend eternity with Him. Christians who have learned this truth are called to share it with others. Don’t keep the good news of Christ to yourself. Use your voice to tell others about Jesus.
Prayer Prompt: Jesus, please help me to be bold in sharing my faith. Help me to share wisdom and truth with others that encourages them to dedicate their lives to the only thing that really matters in life — finding Christ.
