Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.
Revelation 2:7 (NIV)
Discussion Questions:
- Revelation repeatedly says, “He who has ears, let him hear…” In your own life, what is the difference between hearing God’s Word and obeying it? Is there something God has been speaking to you that you have not yet acted on? (Revelation 2:7; Psalm 73:2–3, 17)
- The sermon highlights that every choice we make reveals our allegiance—to the Lamb or to the world. Where do you feel the strongest pressure to compromise your faith (work, relationships, culture, etc.)? What would it look like to remain faithful to Christ in that situation? (1 Peter 4:17; Revelation 2:4; John 14:15 )
- Revelation shows believers crying, “How long, O Lord?” and being asked to wait. How do you usually respond when God seems silent or delayed in answering your prayers? What helps you trust God and remain faithful during difficult or unjust situations? (Revelation 6:11; Ephesians 1:13)
- The sermon ends with a call to decision: “Who do you belong to?” Which group do you most identify with right now: (a) faithful but struggling, (b) drifting/compromising, or (c) still exploring faith? What is one practical step you can take this week to respond to Christ’s call? (Matthew 7:22–23)
Sermon Summary
This week our guest speaker George Chang shared how Revelation is often approached wrongly as an incomprehensible mystery or a code to predict the future. However, history proves these interpretations fail. Christ’s true intent is not to satisfy our curiosity about when the end times occur, but to address our current spiritual state and shape how we live today. Rightly reading Revelation leads to transformation, repentance, and faithfulness rather than mere speculation. We must truly “hear”—meaning obey with a response. Just like first-century Christians pressured to compromise, we face the same ultimate question: will we remain faithful to Christ?
