Philippians 4:8 (NJKV) Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
After casting our cares unto God, the Apostle Paul asked us to meditate on the truth and keep our eyes on God so that we can keep the peace. Here are some examples of what we can meditate on.
Meditate on what is pure
- I am a child of God (John 1:12).
- I belong to the Kingdom of light and the Kingdom of God (Colossians 1:13).
- I have been set free from sin and am no longer a slave to sin (Romans 6:17-18).
- Having been set free from the law of sin and death, I walk in the spirit of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2).
- No temptation can overtake me because God will help me to stand up under it (1 Corinthians 10:13).
Meditate on what is praiseworthy
- He first loved us (1 John 4:19).
- Our name is written on the palm of His hand (Isaiah 49:16).
- The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous (Psalm 34:15).
- God has redeemed us because of Jesus’ blood (1 Peter 1:18-19).
- We have peace with God and are accepted in the Beloved (Ephesians 1:6).
- He has promised not to leave us nor forsake us (Deuteronomy 31:8).
- The Holy Spirit in us is greater than the one in the world (1 John 4:4).
- He watches over His covenant to a thousand generations (Psalm 105:8).
- He listens to the cry of the righteous; He has heard our prayers and will deliver us (Psalm 34:15).
- He has not given us the spirit of fear but of love, power and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
- He is the God of all flesh; there is nothing too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:27).
Meditate on whatever is lovely
- We are new creations, with the nature of God in us (2 Corinthians 5:17).
- The nature of God is love. Therefore, I can love my enemies (1 John 4:8).
- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
- Love is patient and kind (1 Corinthians 13:4).
- God keeps no record of my wrong. Therefore, I will not keep records of wrong for what others have done to me (1 Corinthians 13:5).
Meditate on finances
- My God shall supply all my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19).
- God is my Jehovah Jireh, my Provider (Genesis 22:14).
- I need not worry about what I will eat and wear because my Father knows my needs (Matthew 6:23-34).
- He knows how to give good gifts to His children, including business and a good job (Matthew 7:11).
- I am blessed in my coming in and going out, and whatever I place my hand to do (Deuteronomy 28:3-8).
- My Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills; therefore, I will not live in lack (Psalm 50:10).
- He will open the window of heaven to pour down blessings that there won’t be enough room to contain as I tithe faithfully and obediently (Malachi 3:10).
- He will multiply the seed that I have sown through freewill offerings (2 Corinthians 9:10).
