2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Righteousness is the blessing that has been imputed to us at salvation. Righteousness means the character or quality of being right or just. It gives us the ability to stand in the presence of God without guilt, condemnation, or inferiority. Sadly. many believers pray like beggars or orphans, hoping God might notice them. The truth is: the righteous shall live by faith in the living God.
God has given to all believers the ability to stand before Him as though sin had never existed in our lives because Jesus has redeemed us with His blood! Righteousness is a standing of uprightness with God—a positional truth. It doesn’t mean that we are perfect, but that God has chosen to see us as righteous in Christ.
When we know God has justified us, it will have a powerful effect on our walk with Him. God wants to do great exploits through every disciple of Jesus Christ, and each of us is unique and has a specific calling in life, but we often live under God’s standard and calling because of our limited understanding of how God views us.
Ephesians 4:24 (NKJV) And that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Our righteous position is found in the new creation of inner man. The Bible says that God created it in true righteousness and holiness. Therefore, the new creation in you after you are born again is seen as righteous and holy before God!
Righteousness is a position that you have with your heavenly Father as though you had never sinned. This position came about after you received Christ. You are a new creation. The fact that you have been made righteous by faith means that in Christ, God now judges you as righteous, and you meet with His approval according to His own standard of what is right.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Righteousness is the very reason for the plan of redemption. We cannot achieve anything before God based on our own strength. God, in His abundance of grace, allows His only begotten Son to be made sin for us, for us to be hidden in Him. We have this right standing before God due to Jesus’ work of atonement. This righteousness comes from God, through faith in Him. It allows us to have a restored fellowship with Him—the same kind of relationship that Adam had in the Garden of Eden before the Fall.
Reflection: Are you approaching God with confidence in your position as His child, or with guilt, fear, and unworthiness? How would a deeper awareness of your righteousness in Christ change the way you pray and live?

活在义的身份意识中
哥林多后书 5:17 若有人在基督里，他就是新造的人，旧事已过，都变成新的了。
义，是我们在得救时被神赐予并归算给我们的祝福。义意味着拥有正确、公正的本质或状态。它使我们能够坦然站立在神面前，不再带着罪疚、定罪感或自卑感。可惜的是，许多信徒在祷告时仍然像乞丐或孤儿一样，盼望神能够注意他们。事实上，真理是：义人必因信靠永活的神而活。
神已经赐给所有信徒一个能力，就是能够站立在祂面前，如同罪从未在我们生命中存在过一样，因为耶稣已经用祂的宝血救赎了我们！义，是我们在神面前正直的地位—这是一个属灵身份上的事实。它并不意味着我们已经完全无罪、毫无瑕疵，而是意味着神选择在基督里看我们为义。
当我们知道神已经称我们为义时，这会极大地影响我们与祂同行的方式。神渴望透过每一位耶稣基督的门徒成就伟大的工作。我们每个人都是独特的，并且在生命中都有神所赐的特定呼召。然而，由于我们对神如何看待我们的认识有限，我们常常活在低于神标准和呼召的状态中。
以弗所书 4:24 并且穿上新人，这新人是照着神的形象造的，有真理的仁义和圣洁。
我们属义的身份根基，在于我们里面的新人。圣经告诉我们，这新人是照着神的形象所造，并拥有真实的义和圣洁。因此，当你重生之后，里面的新生命在神面前被看为义，并且被看为圣洁！
义，是你在天父面前所拥有的一种身份—就如同你从未犯过罪一样。这个身份是在你接受基督之后得着的。你已经成为一个新造的人。你因信被神称义，意味着在基督里，神如今以义来看待你，并且按照祂自己对于“正确与公义”的标准，悦纳你。
哥林多后书 5:21 神使那无罪的替我们成为罪，好叫我们在他里面成为神的义。
义是救赎计划的核心原因。我们无法凭自己的力量在神面前成就任何事情。神因着祂丰盛的恩典，使祂独生的儿子替我们成为罪，使我们可以藏在基督里面。我们能够在神面前拥有正确的地位，完全是因为耶稣所成就的赎罪工作。这义是从神而来的，是借着信靠祂而得着的。它使我们能够与神恢复亲密的关系—正如亚当在伊甸园堕落之前，与神所拥有的那种关系一样。
默想：当你来到神面前时，你是带着作为祂儿女的信心和坦然无惧来到祂面前，还是仍然带着罪疚、恐惧和不配感？如果你更深地认识自己在基督里的义，这会如何改变你的祷告方式以及你的生活方式？
