Philippians 4: 8 (NKJV) Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
The Apostle Paul asked us to meditate on whatever is lovely: I am a new creation, and the nature of God is within me. The nature of God is love; therefore, I can love my enemies and those who make life difficult for me. Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy my colleagues’ or neighbours’ blessings while we are suffering. God keeps no record of my wrongs; therefore, I will not keep a record of wrongs against others for what they have done. Love can fully forgive, stop talking about it, and set the person free.
The Apostle Paul did say that in everything and in every circumstance in life we should pray and meditate on God’s truths. Therefore, if we are worried about our finances, the following is an example of how we can meditate on God’s truths in this area.
Praise God that my God shall supply all my needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Praise God that God is my Jehovah Jireh, my Provider. Praise God that I needn’t worry about what I will eat or wear, because my Heavenly Father knows my needs. Praise God that if He feeds the sparrows and looks after the lilies in the field, He will also feed and clothe me. Praise God that He is the God of the how-much-more. The Heavenly Father knows how to give good gifts to His children, including business and a good job. I am blessed in my coming in and my going out, and whatever I set my hand to do, I am blessed. I am blessed in the city and in the village. My kneading bowl is blessed; therefore, my work is blessed. Praise God that my Father owns the sheep on a thousand hills. He has no lack, nor will I live in lack. Praise God that He will open the window of heaven to pour down blessings so that there is not enough room to contain them as I tithe faithfully and obediently. Praise God that He will multiply the seed I have sown through freewill offerings.
