Some of the Holy Spirit’s roles include helping, comforting, and teaching us. Sadly, many Christians have not truly engaged with His help because we cannot see Him or understand His work. However, we short-change ourselves if we do not seek the Holy Spirit’s help. Many of us are uncomfortable with the supernatural, yet we need to come to terms with the fact that we worship a supernatural God. Therefore, we need to learn to work with Him and seek His help.
When we speak in tongues or pray in the Spirit, we need to know that we are speaking to God, not to men. Praying in the Spirit also involves speaking mysteries with the help of the Holy Spirit, who enables us to pray in line with God’s will for our lives. When we pray in the Spirit, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us, and the intercession is in line with God’s will.
Many of us are very intellectual and mentally strong. We tend to reject what our minds or understanding cannot grasp, but we need to let go and trust God, who has revealed in Scripture that praying in tongues is good and helpful for us. Many Christians struggle with letting go and allowing God to take control. This is true both when trusting God as we consecrate our lives to Him and when praying in the Spirit without knowing what we are praying about. Praying with the Spirit transcends the limitations of the mind and language. We need to rest in God’s love and trust that He has a good plan for us.
Praying in the Spirit means praying from the inner man. This kind of prayer bypasses the mind, allowing our spirit to flow freely with the Holy Spirit. He helps us to pray in accordance with the will of God. God has a good will for our lives. Therefore, when we are stressed, we should pray in the understanding by casting all our cares on the Lord, and in the Spirit. After praying in the Spirit, we can leave the outcome to God because all things work for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

圣灵的其中一些角色包括帮助我们、安慰我们以及教导我们。可惜的是，许多基督徒并没有真正经历祂的帮助，因为我们无法看见祂，也不明白祂的工作。然而，如果我们不寻求圣灵的帮助，我们就是亏损了自己。许多人对超自然的事感到不自在，但我们需要面对一个事实：我们所敬拜的是一位超自然的神。因此，我们需要学习与祂同工，并寻求祂的帮助。
当我们说方言或在灵里祷告时，我们需要知道，我们是在向神说话，而不是向人说话。在灵里祷告也包括借着圣灵的帮助，说出各样的奥秘，使我们能够按照神在我们生命中的旨意来祷告。当我们在灵里祷告时，圣灵会为我们代求，而祂的代求是符合神旨意的。
许多人非常理性，并且拥有很强的思维能力。我们往往会拒绝那些无法用自己的思想或理解去掌握的事情。然而，我们需要放下自己，信靠神，因为祂已经在圣经中启示我们，在方言中祷告对我们是有益处且有帮助的。许多基督徒在放下自己、让神掌权这件事上挣扎。无论是在将自己的生命分别为圣、信靠神的过程中，还是在不知道自己所祷告内容时仍在灵里祷告，这一点都是如此。在灵里祷告超越了思想和语言的限制。我们需要安息在神的爱中，并相信祂为我们所预备的是美好的计划。
在灵里祷告意味着从里面的人发出祷告。这种祷告绕过人的思想，使我们的灵能够自由地与圣灵相连。圣灵帮助我们按照神的旨意祷告。神对我们的生命有美好的旨意。因此，当我们面对压力时，我们应当用悟性祷告，将一切忧虑卸给主，也要在灵里祷告。在灵里祷告之后，我们可以将结果交托给神，因为万事都互相效力，叫爱神的人得益处，就是按祂旨意被召的人（罗马书 8:28）。
