But those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him.
That is how we know we are living in him.

When you love someone, you show it in a variety of ways. Maybe it’s through the kind words you speak, or the gracious things you do, or the thoughtful gifts you give. You don’t do these things out of obligation or fear, but out of love.
As followers of Jesus, we show God that we love Him by obeying Him. Not out of obligation or fear, but out of love. The reason we obey is that we trust Him. We trust that He knows us best and wants what’s best for us. Our trust in God leads to our obedience to God, which reveals our love for God as we abide in Him.

Thank God that everything He says for us to obey is best for us. Ask God to help you show your love for Him by allowing His Holy Spirit to help you obey in areas you’re struggling.
