Ephesians 1:15-19 (NKJV) Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power
In the above passage, the Apostle Paul prayed for the believers to grasp what belongs to them in Christ. He prayed such a prayer because they would live differently if they understood this truth.
Many of you want to know how to succeed according to God’s principles. God wants you to glorify Him in your life by doing well in your job, business, and ministry, and you can succeed because God is for you and will provide you with wisdom if you are yoked with Him and allow Him to be a significant part of your life. God desires you to thrive holistically, which means walking closely with Him, practising His truth, enjoying good interpersonal relationships and emotional health, and fostering a strong family. There is blessedness in walking in the calling of God because He will be with you through thick and thin, instead of reaping what you have sown in the flesh. As you pursue His calling for your life, you will find rest, because you don’t need to prove anything to or impress anyone; you only need to care about what God thinks.
God has always intended good for everyone. We have read that, even though the Old and New Testament saints went through challenging times, their lives consistently glorified God. We all possess diverse talents, backgrounds, achievements, and life experiences. Jesus is our master craftsman. He has a specific calling for our lives because He is the one who created us.
We will all have to give an account to God regarding how we have lived for Him at the judgement seat of Christ, including how we have served Him as stewards of the gifts, talents, finances, assets, and the gospel. Therefore, we should fix our eyes on eternity and work backwards from the day of judgement by ensuring we are being good and faithful servants, as we want to end well by hearing Him say, “Well done! My good and faithful servant!”, receive our heavenly rewards, and prove to be good stewards of everything that He has entrusted to us.
