“But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.”
– Matthew 6:6
There are a lot of things that we do in secret. Everyone has a secret. Some secrets are good some are bad. The Bible tells us that our Heavenly Father sees what is done in secret. So, be careful. What do you do when no one is around? Would you do it in front of every one?
One thing is encouraged by our God: to isolate ourselves once in a while during the day for a quiet time with Him. In quietness, says the Lord should be your strength. Be still, says the Lord, and know that I am God.
Our daily schedule can be so full and noisy. Without a moment spent in the presence of the Lord, we can easily lose control and fall astray from His perfect plan. Being still before the Lord brings deliverance.
The best remedy from overcoming negative thoughts, oppression and anxiety is: time spent alone With God in prayer. Especially when you need to make important decisions or you are going through some challenging time in your life.
God can supply your needs. But you need to give him space and fellowship with him daily so you can have that special encounter with Him.
Our Heavenly Father is unseen but He sees you, watches over you and his light can expose your true condition. As He shows you areas in your life where sin is still present: pray pray and pray.
Confess your sin, repent and receive forgiveness from your Faithful Father. He rewards you with a fresh start, a righteous position before him and a good portion of His grace that is sufficient for you.
Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank you for this sweet moment of fellowship with you. You are Holy and through your son Jesus Christ I can be holy. May his precious blood wash away my sin. Cover me Lord and purify my heart this morning. Purify my thoughts and help me enjoy being alone with you in secret.
Amen
