“The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.”
– Psalm 119:130
The most important source for our knowledge of God is the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word and it tells us everything we need to know about him. As God’s Word is taught, it gives light. Therefore, everything in these devotionals is based on the Bible. The Bible tells the truth and we can rely on it. So How can you know God? Through the Bible.
You can also know more of God through the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is God. It was he who led you to read this devotional. He opens and throws light on the Bible when you read it. “ The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth.” From this day on you can pray: “Holy Spirit, open the Word of God to me so that I can understand it and grow in faith. In Jesus ‘ name. Amen
Time for some actions, because the Bible says that faith expresses itself in Action. Let’s read some Bible verses about personal needs and ask the Holy Spirit to give us understanding.
Know God when you are in need of Peace: John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give it to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”
Know God when you are in need of Healing: 1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins”, in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
Know God when you are in need of Forgiveness: 1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Know God when you are in need of Strength: Romans 8 :11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
Prayer: Jesus, I am very blessed to be part of your family. Help me have a good day and spread your love to my family and friends. The Holy Spirit guided me, protected me, and used me powerfully today.
Amen
