“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” – Proverbs 17:17
During the 2022 Shanghai Lockdown, I received lots of text messages buzzing on mobile throughout the day – most of them being group-buy notifications and updates on latest local news. As I scroll through the trails of messages, I took particular delight from friends whom sent their love from near and far. Just as late Eleanor Roosevelt ever once said, “Many people will walk in and out of your life; true friends will leave footprints in your heart”. I truly appreciate these friends. They are true friends.
Since the advent of social media, the definition of friend kind of changed. We may have “friends” over the online platform, but we barely know how they look like, lest to say knowing the “real” them. I really thank God that I have real friends, true friends in my life. They are the ones who makes me laugh a little louder, cry without having to be pretentious and make me smile brighter. True friends are the ones who overlook my broken fence and admires the flowers in my garden.
Truly, a friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. I praise God that in Trailblazers, I have found friends who loves me genuinely. They are the bunch of guys and gals that heightens my joy in God. We praise and worship and make joyful music to the Lord together. We pray for each other during stressful exam seasons and when assignments seemed to be never ending, always near due. We encourage one another with promises from God’s Word and held each other up whenever we feel weak on our own. These are my True Friends. You know who you are. I thank God for you!
Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you for true friends in my life. May you help my true friends and me grow deeper into Your Word, that we may encourage one another throughout our journey of faith in You. Keep us bound in love with You. Bless our friendship Lord. In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
