Have you been scrolling through web media and reminiscent the images of those almost too perfect looking pop-artists, then you wonder why you can’t look as great or as smart as they are? Look-out: this is where the devil will use the loopholes and enter into your mind and heart. Before you could retract, thought of self-devaluation might sheepishly creep in.
Believers are taught to commune daily with the Lord. It is important that we put the first fruit of our everyday to be with the Lord and to meditate His Word throughout. The Word affirms us of our identity in Jesus. The Word reveals wisdom about life and cautioned us not to allow our mind to be infiltrated with messy information from the world.
What have you been reading and thinking about lately? How and who have you been spending your time with? Movie downloads, games, social chatrooms, scrolling TikTok browsing Youtube? Let me ask you, when you put down your console, when you get cut out from poor wifi access, when your eyes become droopy and tired from the glare of the screen, how much progress have you made from the state of mind you were in before the session? Were you really satisfied in your spirit? What if you were to use those time, to meditate on God’s Word, to think about His attributes and character, about the great things He has blessed you in life… Believe me, you will be nourished and encouraged.
When we choose to think about Jesus, about His love, about His promises to us, our faith becomes stronger.
