“But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” – Matthew 6:33
Have you ever felt exasperated? Trying so hard to do it all?
I have. It could be part of my natural self; adrenaline bursting within me to get as much done in a day. Perhaps you have deadline for assignments and homework coming up; much preparation needed for exams and recitals for concert; tournaments and competition all-year round ~ you barely find yourself slowing down because there are simply too much going on. Perhaps you are feeling harried and desperate to get your “to-do” completed, to get through another day that you did not take time to step back and ask yourself if your priorities are right. You might have been too busy to see it! But the Bible says, “But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well” ~ Matthew 6:33. Are the things you are so busy with now building you up for the future? Does it reflect eternal treasures for your life? Have you been seeking His Kingdom with the time you have been given? Where have you been pouring your heart to?
Take a personal inventory. Check where you are investing your time, who you have been spending time with, whether your expenditure reflects your priorities.
Reflections: What are the alterations to take so that priorities can be set right?
Prayer: Dear Lord, please help me to use my time wisely on the things that build my life. Guide me Lord in my daily planning and activities engagement. Let me have the courage to say No to those things that simply just clutter my day. Give me the desire and direct me to seek You first Lord above every other matter. As i seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, all other good things will be given to me as well. I give you thanks and praise. In Christ Name I pray, Amen.
