Read: PHILIPPIANS 3
Paul seems to have life figured out. He’s received an incredibly important calling from God, traveled all over the known world, preached the gospel, and remained faithful to God amidst devastating circumstances. Be that as it may, Paul tells the Philippians that he is not perfect. There is still a missing link in his life that he has yet to find.
Philippians 3:12-14
“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”
Paul encourages the Philippians to continue pushing on towards a heavenly goal. Their church has been faithful, and their ministry has been blessed, but Paul wants them to look forward to what God still has planned for their future. As long as you are breathing, God has more in store for you. There is still a missing link in your story. Regardless of how close you’ve grown to Jesus and how much you’ve done to serve him, you are still alive for a greater purpose that you have not yet attained. Never become complacent in your faith. Continue to strive to know Jesus better, and He will continue to entrust you with more.
