READ: Probers 1:5
Time travel doesn’t exist. I am sure you’d love to hop into a time machine and go back in time to see dinosaurs or invest in Apple when they were just starting in a garage. It’s a cool thought, but it’s not real. Time travel is a thing of science fiction. However, I am sure you’ve felt time stand still. I used to always get this sensation while sitting in an uncomfortable desk in school. The minutes felt like weeks, and the hours felt like years. I just couldn’t wait to get out of class so that I could go home and play video games.
When Solomon was teaching his family how to lead well and grow in wisdom, he simply stated, “A wise man will hear and increase learning, and a man of understanding will attain wise counsel” (Proverbs 1:5). Let me sum this up for you: listen and learn.
While it’s natural to dislike school, I hope that doesn’t mean you dislike learning. Education should be a daily determination for you. There is always something to lean. As you learn more, you will grow more. It will make you a better leader and a better person as a whole. Leaders are learners. Therefore, your invitation is to always pursue education. Listen to podcasts. Read books. Talk to people who are smarter than you. Learn a new skill. Strive to learn something new every single day.
