JOHN 9
Have you ever just pleaded with God, “Why?” It’s hard to understand why things happen in life, especially when they feel completely out of our control. Why is my family facing illness? Why did my summer go so badly? Why did my entire future plan just fall apart in moments?
When bad stuff happens, we wonder why. When Jesus and His disciples were walking down the road near the Pool of Sialom outside the temple, they spotted a man who was blind since birth. Naturally, the disciples asked, “Why was this man born blind? Was it because of a family sin?” Jesus wasn’t focused on the past; He was focused on the purpose. He replied, “This is so that God’s power could be seen in him!”
Despite all the uncertainty of life, we can be certain of one thing— God’s got this. If you strive to fix your eyes on Jesus through your trials, His power will show up in your life, and people will notice. Walking with God through pain leads to power.
