1 Peter 3:10-12 (NKJV) For “He who would love life and see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit. Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers; but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.
As Christians, we need to take hold of the kind of life that God intends for us to have while we are on earth—the abundant life that is full of love, joy and peace, where we are prospering in every aspect of our lives. So are you seeing good days? What are we to do to enjoy good days?
If you are not seeing good days, what you are saying through your lips, because Scripture says that as long as we keep a grip of our tongue, we will see good days and love the life that we have, and we are told to pursue and seek peace.
Are we stirring up company politics by what we say? Are we saying negative words toward our spouse? Are we speaking evil of the leaders put in place by God? Are we putting a wedge between our sons or daughters in law?
People today feel entitled to the freedom of speech, but what they forget is that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from responsibility or the consequences of our speech. Many demand to have the right to say whatever they want without being responsible, and often without any fear of God, but the Bible is clear that we will reap what we sow, and we are accountable for the words that we speak.
Galatians 6:7 (NKJV) Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Therefore, we should turn away from evil, put away malice, rein in our tongue from speaking evil and deceit, even to those who might have offended us. We should not be carnal but put off the old man that demand entitlement of speech without responsibities. Let us put on the new man who is created in righteousness and holiness.
Ephesians 4:29(NKJV) Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
The secret to seeing good days is to refrain our tongue from speaking evil and deceit. We could instantly see good days if we clean up our words and watch what we say.
