“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
– Colossians 2:6-7
Jesus said in His Word that he is the good Shepherd, and the Shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. He gives us life, and gives it abundantly. As a Christian, we cannot live like lifeless creatures, hardened by sin and hurt. We are called to live our life continually in Christ Jesus our Lord. He should have the title of the Lord of our lives. It means we should step down and stop trying to control everything or be the center of our own life.
If Jesus is our Lord, we are his servant. The question is, are we good servants? We cannot be good and faithful servants without our Lord’s help. We need to be rooted and built up in Him. Our relationship with Jesus needs to be so close that he is like a the vine and we are the branches.
Being rooted in the Word of God saves lives. We have the discernment and ability to act righteously. Our faith in him is tested and strengthened. We are confident that the one who started a good work in us will finish it!
We can start this day with a heart of gratitude, because Jesus lives! Let his life influence yours. You will experience divine healing and the joy of the Lord will be your strength.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Lord of Lords and King of kings, I need your peace that surpasses all understanding. I need your love. Help me grow in you and be rooted in you Word. Refresh my soul and renew my mind. Jesus, I love you. I chose to honor you in all that I do. Amen.
