8 By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out, not knowing where he was going. 9 By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise; 10 for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude—innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
Hebrews 11:8-12

Summary:
This week’s sermon focuses on the important theme of faith. Through the life of Abraham, we see that God has made faith a central aspect of the Christian journey and the planning of each of our life stories. Faith is not only a direction and lesson that we, as Christians, must continue to learn in order to grow spiritually, but it is also the means by which we come to know God. Indeed, knowing God is synonymous with experiencing eternal life. This means that faith is the key to eternal life, and we must be united with Jesus Christ by faith, through the Word of God, according to the gift of faith, while trusting in the fruits of faith, which are the results of desired outcomes. The mystery is that even in the absence of clear signs, you can fulfill God’s plan for you by remaining steadfast in faith. The sermon emphasized that in these turbulent times, faith is a path to eternal life that we can walk without fear, and it is a precious gift that we can pass on to the next generation.
