1128 – The Sufficiency of God

2 Corinthians 12:9 (NKJV) And He said to me, “My grace is SUFFICIENT for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” (emphasis added)

It is only with God that all is sufficient in our lives. We are able to draw upon God in every situation or circumstance that we are in because He is indeed the great I AM. Therefore, He is sufficient for us in all purposes, needs, circumstances and in all that we face in our lives.

God has settled the sin problem that separated us from Him. He has resolved our insecurities by giving us our identity IN CHRIST. He has overcome the sting of death for us. He will supply all our needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus. He has restored our peace with Him and has given us peace in our hearts and minds. We have no want in life!

Therefore, the strength of Christ appears and shines forth in its perfection and glory, when supplying, supporting, and strengthening His people in all their weaknesses. If we had no weaknesses, His strength would not be evident.

Genesis 17:1(NKJV) When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.

Just like Abraham, all of us need assurance from God especially when it is something that requires faith. In fact, faith is always required when God calls us to do something for Him and it requires us to leave our comfort zones. It is applicable for such a time like this COVID-19 pandemic. God will meet us at our level with Him and assure us with His word. God established a covenant with Abraham and reminded him that He is the Almighty God or El Shaddai. He was able to bring to pass whatever He had promised Abraham.

God Almighty at times is referred to as El Shaddai. Shaddai (Strong’s 07706: Brown-Driver-Briggs’ definition) means Almighty, most powerful. It conveys the truth on the one hand that He is omnipotent and on the other that He is sufficient. El Shaddai is God Almighty, the ever-present God who protects and provides.

Abraham had to believe that God had called him to be the father of many nations and that the promise would come true through Sarah. It was an impossible situation given their advanced age. He had to believe that God is truly the God Almighty. There was no other way except through faith and refusing to look at the circumstances. Just as Abraham applied his faith to trust God despite the deadness of Sarah’s womb, all of us have to apply our faith in God that the ALL SUFFICIENT ONE, THE ALMIGHTY GOD AND EL SHADDAI will be able to grant us His grace, His strength and His abilities to see us through difficult times. He is able to make a way for us in every circumstance that we are facing in life.

Sermon Series: My Grace Is Sufficient for You (Grace for Living)

Shaddai(Strong’s 07706: Brown-Driver-Briggs的定义)意思是全能、最有能力。
