230418 – Natural or Unnatural Part 3 | TBS Devotions

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.”

~ 1 Peter 2:9

God is the author and designer of marriage. He designed it to be a covenant relationship between a man and a woman. The woman is known to be emotionally strong and gifted to hold the family together while the man is called to be the head of the household, the spiritual leader, the provider and the protector of the family. God has also blessed the marriage institute to be a safe environment where children can be protected and preserve their innocence.

Sadly, our modern society is distorting this vision of marriage, introducing and promoting what the Bible considers an abomination: women exchanging what is natural for the unnatural. Romans 1:27 says “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.”

Let’s be on our guard. As believers, we must take a stand and stick with the truth that is found in the Word of God. We are part of the body of Christ and our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Let’s guard ourselves from immoral sin and value holiness and purity of heart. God has prepared a woman for a man. Let’s trust our Maker. In due time He will make everything beautiful in your life. Don’t be in a rush and seek to multiply your experience with a boy or a girl. Wait on the Lord. Believe in the power of the Holy Spirit.

When we meet individuals, who seemed to be confused in their gender identity or seem to embrace homosexuality, let’s not try to conform to their ideologies but speak the truth in love because they need us to stand in the gap and put on Christ. We cannot act in hatred and be judgmental, but use the same wisdom that is found in Jesus when he ate with sinners without condoning their sins or lifestyle. Jesus didn’t hesitate to minister to them when the opportunity arose.

Let’s pray for the Spirit of God to bring conviction in our heart and in the heart of the people around us, so the kingdom of darkness will have no room to deceive any more people. Let’s remain in the light! Jesus is the light of the world. Let Him shine in us and through us!

Prayer:

Jesus, thank you for saving me. I want to learn to be a light in this world. Help me not to compromise my values and be loving to the people you put in my life. Thank you for your holy spirit living in me. Please give me the strength I need to overcome the challenges I may face today.
