Ezekiel 22:30 NKJV So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap be-fore Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one.
God seeks for those who are willing to intercede in prayer for others or situations that He wants to act in to save. Intercessory prayer is the act of standing in between God and a person or persons that the Holy Spirit stirs our hearts to pray for. It could be our children, spouse, pastor, nation or anyone that God has placed a burden in our hearts for.
When we are interceding, we will have a very clear objective to pray for the person to be delivered out of the situation. We will be able to intercede with or without information about the person or situation when we pray in the Spirit as He leads us in prayer. We stand on the promises of God to pray for the per-son or situation and we pray persistently and boldly asking God to intervene in the situation through prayer.
We may not know when or who we need to pray for but the Holy Spirit already knows of their situation and the timing needed for you to pray for them. It may not be possible or convenient for them to call you themselves to share but the Holy Spirit who is omniscient, knows their needs and will call upon us at any-time and anywhere to pray for them. It could be while we are at work, cooking, relaxing, resting or even on the plane. We then have to be sensitive to His calling at that particular time to yield to His Spirit to pray for that person or person’s situation.
Acts 12:5 NKJV Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
The whole church was praying for Peter at that time when he was arrested and persecuted for his faith and subsequently, he was miraculously released from prison. This is how interceding for someone to stand strong in the Lord despite the challenges, trial or tribulation he is facing is so necessary and important.
Psalm 34:17, 19 NKJV The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles….
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.
As believers, we have an imputed righteousness which allows us to pray in faith. Even though we are not perfect, we have been put in a spiritual position through faith in Christ where God sees us as righteous and so that we can pray in confidence and cry out to God as we partner with Him to pray for all those we love and whomever He wants us to intercede for. This is how He guides, teaches and leads us by the Holy Spirit.

神寻找那些愿意为祂想要施行拯救的人或状况代祷之人。代祷是照着圣灵的感动站在神和一个或几个人之间祷告的行为。那可以是我们的孩子、配偶、牧师、国家或任何神放置在我们心头的负担。
当我们代求的时候，我们会有一个非常明确的目标，就是为那人祷告，让他脱离困境。当我们在圣灵的带领下祷告的时候，无论有没有关于这个人或情况的信息，我们都能祷告。我们持守在神的应许之上，为一个人或一个处境祷告，我们恒切、大胆地通过祷告祈求神介入此事。
我们也许不知道什么时候祷告或为谁祷告，但圣灵已经知道他们的处境，知道你何时需要为他们祷告。让他们自己打电话来分享也许不太可能或不太方便，但圣灵是全知的，知道他们的需要，并且随时随地呼召我们来为他们祷告，也许会是在我们工作、做饭、放松、休息甚至在飞机上的时候。因此我们应该在那个特定的时刻敏锐于祂的呼召，顺服圣灵，为那人或他的处境祷告。
徒十二5于是彼得被囚在监里。教会却为他切切地祷告神。
彼得由于信仰而被抓了起来并受到迫害，当时整个教会都在为他祷告。后来，他奇迹般地从监狱中获释。这就是为什么为那面对挑战、试炼或磨难的人代祷，让他坚强地持守在主里是如此的必要和重要。
诗篇34:17,19 义人呼求，耶和华听见了，便救他们脱离一切患难。义人多有苦难。但耶和华救他脱离这一切。
作为信徒，我们有义内住于心，这使我们能凭信心祷告。即使我们并不完美,我们因着信靠基督，在灵里神看我们为义, 所以我们可以凭信心呼求神，因为我们是与神同工，为所有我们爱的人以及祂希望我们为其祷告的人代祷。这就是祂藉着圣灵引导、教训和带领我们的方式。
