The gift of leading worship is the special ability that God gives to certain members of the Body of Christ to accurately discern the heart of God for a particular public worship service, to draw others into an intimate experience of God during the worship time and to allow the Holy Spirit to change directions and emphasis as the service progresses.
It is important that each and everyone in the worship team is a worshipper in his/her daily life. While technical skill is important but we need to know the presence of God especially how to flow with the Holy Spirit.
The worship leader needs the anointing to lead, while worship leading is not listed as a gift in the different passages. It is the unction to function in the role of leading worship for the service or cell group meeting.
1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you……..you will abide in Him.
The anointing is the person of the Holy Spirit that comes upon us to give us the unction to function.
The worship service is not a performance by the worship team, it is not a sing along but an intentional journey to meet the King of kings.
2 Chronicles 5:13-14 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever,” that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud,…. for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.
The presence of God was either represented by a pillar of cloud or fire in the Old Testament. In this case, the glory of God that was represented by a cloud which filled the temple as the Levites began to worship Him in one accord. The priests could not continue to minister since the presence of God was so strong. We are promised the presence of God when we draw near to Him. If the presence of God was so strong in the Old Testament then the presence of God will be much stronger in the New Testament church that’s washed by the blood of Jesus Christ.
The role of the worship leader is to bring all of us to meet the King of kings because He has given us the privilege of having an audience with Him. There is only one audience and the focus should be on God throughout the service.

带领敬拜
带领敬拜的恩赐是上帝赐予教会肢体中某些成员的一项特别能力，在特定的公开敬拜中精准地领受上帝的心意，引领会众在敬拜时更深切地经历上帝的同在，在聚会的行进中由圣灵来带领，调整敬拜的方向和重点。
敬拜团里的每一个成员在其日常生活中也是一个敬拜者，这一点很重要。虽然带领敬拜需要技巧，但我们需要知晓上帝的同在，尤其要懂得如何顺应圣灵的带领。
带领敬拜的同工需要有带领的恩膏，虽然其他章节中并没有将领敬拜列为恩赐。但要在礼拜或小组聚会中带领敬拜，这肯定是一个需要恩膏的角色。
约翰一书2:27你们从主所受的恩膏，常存在你们心里，并不用人教训你们，自有主的恩膏在凡事上教训你们。这恩膏是真的，不是假的；你们要按这恩膏的教训，住在主里面。
受恩膏是指圣灵降在我们身上，赐我们以恩膏使我们发挥作用。敬拜服事不是敬拜团的演出，也不是台下敬拜者的附和哼唱，而是一个为遇见万王之王而刻意预备的旅程。
历代志下 5: 13-14 吹号的、歌唱的都一齐发声，声合为一，赞美感谢耶和华。吹号、敲钹，用各种乐器，扬声赞美耶和华说：耶和华本为善，他的慈爱永远长存！那时，耶和华的殿有云充满， 甚至祭司不能站立供职，因为耶和华的荣光充满了神的殿。
在旧约中，神同在的表现不是云柱就是火柱。在这段经节里，当利未人开始同心合一地敬拜，神的荣耀就表现为充满圣殿的云，这荣光是如此之强大乃至祭司们不能站立供职。上帝承诺当我们亲近祂时，祂必与我们同在。既然旧约时代神的同在已如此强大，新约时代的教会因经历耶稣宝血洗净后，神的同在必然更为可观。
带领敬拜同工的角色就是把我们每一个人领到万王之王的面前，因神已经给予我们朝见祂的特权。在整个敬拜过程中上帝是我们唯一的听众及焦点。
