1202 – True and Proper Worship | TBS Devotions

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

~ Romans 12:1 NIV

God is a God of mercy.  He has compassion on us, especially when he sees our weakness and limitation.  We might be very good at some things, we can develop high skills but there is always going to be someone brighter than us.  We can control some situations but not everything can be under our control.

That’s why it’s important for us to rely on the goodness of God.  It’s important to lift up our life to Him so he can intervene and help us in times of need.

Our God is also a Holy and righteous God.  He requires us to live a Holy life. That mean living every day with the desire to walk away from sin and walk in manner that pleases God.  As followers of Jesus Christ it is so important to live a life of obedience to His Word because the Bible says that as we do that, we are offering our body as a living sacrifice: holy and pleasing to God and that’s the Bible’s definition of a true and proper worship.

Today let’s be intentional and Give God that true and proper worship.  He is worthy of our adoration.

Prayer: Wonderful merciful God.  I worship you.  I praise you this morning.  You are my God and I will give you the glory.  Thank you for your living Word.  I will read and do what it says! I offer my life to you as a living sacrifice. Show me your way Lord and put within me the desire to honor you and get to know you more. There are so much going on in my life but I know that you are able to help me discern the best way to handle every situation. I choose to find my strength in you, My God, my Savior. May you bless this day and teach to rejoice in it. Amen.
