1201 – The Lord’s Timing | TBS Devotions

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

~ 2 Peter 3:9 NIV

The Bible is filled with promises made by the Lord.  Can you name some?

When you believe in the promises of God, you open up your heart and your life to a new dimension.  You allow the Spirit of the Living God to move in your life and take authority over everything that is happening within you and around you.

God promises to protect you.  But you must be the one living under his protection.  Just like when you drive a car.  The seat belt is there but if you don’t fasten your seat belt, it will not have the power to protect you.

Too often, we expect God to give us everything but we are not making time to fellowship with him. In our busy time we forget to feed ourselves with His living Word and end up doing things that are not in line with His plan for our lives.

God is not slow in keeping his promise.  He is patient.  In His time, he priorities your relationship with him.  The condition of your heart and soul matter to Him.  The state of your worship and fellowship with him is more important.  His holiness requires You to live a holy life, a godly life. Not by your own strength, but by the power of Christ living in you.

When you sin, He sends the Holy Spirit to convince you and He waits for you to repent and return to Him.  In His Faithfulness, God forgive you and restore you so He can now have access to your life and do what Only He can do.

Let’s surrender everything to the Lord today.  In his perfect timing, He will fulfill all his promises.

Prayer: Lord, today I choose to remember to confess all my sin to you.  Forgive me for not putting my trust in your good time.  Thank you for giving me another chance.  Holy Spirit, refresh me and anoint me with the oil of joy.

Amen.
