230411 – Put It In Practice! | TBS Devotions

“In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead”.

~James 2:17

Do you have faith in God? Now it is time to put His Word into practice. We learned that God is a wonderful Father. He is the Creator. He is the only God. He is a Father and He is good. God is great, holy and righteous. We can get to know Him through the Bible and through the Holy Spirit.

As a wonderful Father, he provides peace, healing, food and shelter.  He cares for us and forgives us when we confess our sin. Our God can also give us strength. He knows that sometimes we can be fearful. His Word says in Isaiah 41:10 “ so do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Learn to know God in good time. He is the source of your joy. Nehemiah 8:10 “ The joy of the Lord is my strength “.  When you feel lonely you can read Romans 8 : 11 “The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you” and believe that His Spirit lives in you.

Now let’s do something more practical. Let’s praise and thank God this morning. Lay aside your books, your computer or anything else. If you can: stand on your feet or kneel in reverence before God. Lift your hands, close your eyes and begin to say:

“Thank you God for…. “ and thank him, in your own words, for everything wonderful he has done.

If you want to, use the words of Psalms 63:

“Oh God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirst for you, my body longs for you…”

Do this at least once a day. It is best to start the day praising God- for the rest of your life.

You can set your alarm 15minutes earlier tomorrow and spend that time praising the Lord!

HE will not disappoint you.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus! I give thanks to you because you are good! Your love endures forever. Thank you for washing away my sin! I will serve and obey you today.

Amen
