0209 – Count It All Joy | TBS Devotions

“I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you and that your joy may be made full”

~ John 15:11

Have you ever got something, felt elated for a little while and gradually, that feeling of happiness seemed to blithe away? Happiness can be fickled – it is dictated by circumstances. The author of Lamentations describes how happiness disappears when turmoil enters the scene: “My soul is bereft of peace; I have forgotten what happiness is (Lamentation 3:17)”.

As believers of Christ, we have more than just sheer happiness. In the Book of John 15:11, Jesus said, “I have spoken these things to you, that my joy may remain in you and that your joy may be made full (NKJV).”

Joy, is not elation or exhilaration. Joy runs deeper than momentary pleasure on the surface. In our learning journey, we might face some challenges and possibly struggles. Do not however, let that take away your joy! Joy, is being in the present, in the moment, even in adversity or through challenges. Joy is not a blurred emotion, neither is it dependent on circumstances.

Living as believers of Christ, our joy flows from acknowledging our position IN CHRIST! Joy is a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit within us! As we strive in pursuant of our goals, let us remain “joy-full”!  Let us live affirmed and assured knowing that God is our Advocate and our Guide; He is always by our side to direct us and strengthen us. God breathes joy into us daily! Hallelujah!

Friends, may I encourage you to rejoice and be ever so joyful as you pursue your academic learning! “Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13 NKJV)”.

Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You that I have Joy because Christ lives in me. I am be the joy-carrier and spread it around to the people around me! In Jesus Name I pray, Amen.
